Vikram Solar was founded in 2006 by Gyanesh Chaudhary as a manufacturer of solar modules. It has since moved into engineering, procurement, and construction management, and solar power plant operations and maintenance.
Vikram Solar Limited (formerly known as Vikram Solar Private Limited) is one of India’s largest module manufacturers, in terms of operational capacity, producing solar photo-voltaic modules (as on December 31, 2021), and is also an integrated solar energy solutions provider offering engineering, procurement and construction services, and operations and maintenance services.
Vikram Solar Limited is an Indian company based in West Bengal, Kolkata. It is one of the largest solar module manufacturers in India (by capacity), with 3.5 GW module manufacturing capacity annually and the second-largest solar energy company in India by revenue.
The company's primary business focus is manufacturing solar PV modules, and also carrying out engineering, procurement, and construction services and operations, and maintenance of solar power plants.
In 2015 the company completed the first floating solar power plant in India.
